I am trying to operate with my Canon 8800 flatbed scanner by using Xsane through Glimp. The scanner gets recognized but it flashes through the preview page to the scan page, so I can’t crop the image to scan. Reinstalling did not help. I am running Linux mint 19 Cinnamon. How can I fix this?

Have you tried configurating the scanner to the size your image is?

Did you try with other scanning file with other other image scanning,
- If problem is still there, download latest driver and install the
driver.
