Hello, I installed wamp and WordPress and everything seemed to work fine. When I entered data after creating a database cocn_wp with user root and password blank, I tried to click submit and the “can’t select” error shows up. Tried re-creating the database and editing the wp-config-sample.php file and saving it as wp-config.php, did not do what was supposed to. Any help with this one?
Try adding the port to the database host configuration. For my install of WAMP, MySQL uses port 3308. When I changed the database host setting to read “localhost:3308” on the setup page, it worked and brought me to the ‘five minute install’ page (having erred on the previous 87 configuration attempts).
