Need some tips on explorer.exe crashes I have been experiencing lately. I purchased a legal copy of Windows 10 Home and Pro OS. My investigation so far uncovered that sfc /scannow and Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth do not really help. However, once crashed, the system comes back up without any issues. It is just that explorer.exe likes to randomly shut down on its self. Any thoughts on this?
your purchased windows may be broken so please try Download windows 10 iso file from microsoft and install it.
Hi @Dav21,
Create another user with admin privileges, log in to the new user and check whether Explorer.exe is behaving the same.
If not then maybe your old user profile is corrupted. Explorer.exe crashing happens when a profile gets corrupted. Follow this article for guidance How To Delete User Profile in Windows 10
Hope this helps
