We adopted Microsoft Teams due to Covid-19 pandemic mostly for the purpose of Video and audio call. So far the Microsoft Teams doing great but upon system start Microsoft Teams automatically start itself. Some of our users are annoyed with this behavior so I would like to prevent Microsoft Teams starting automatically for some of our users.
So, How can I prevent Microsoft Teams from starting automatically on startup?
You can stop Microsoft Teams from starting automatically on startup. Please check the below image and go to the setting page of your Microsoft Teams and uncheck Auto-Start Application.
By doing this Microsoft Teams won’t start automatically on startup and let your user the option to use only whenever the need it.

Delete the entry for Microsoft Teams from Registry and check and restart your PC
- Press Windows key + R, to open Run dialog box.
- Type regedit and click on OK.
- Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- On the right pane, right click on the registry entry for Microsoft Teams and select Delete.
