I have a Windows 10 Surface Pro. I am Just wondering if anyone has come across a Windows 10 machine factory resetting itself?Specifically in this case a Surface Pro 4.
I request help desk support from my the place I work to help me reset my Surface. They said they need “the software reinstalled”. Looking at it in person, Windows 10 is at the setup screen like its been completely factory reset, wiped clean.
Restoring data isn’t an issue (at least they haven’t mentioned getting anything off it)
Can’t help but wonder if in trying to solve their own problem they blundered into factory resetting it and don’t want to admit it? Can’t see anything obvious in event viewer.
I guess almost anything is possible but I have never seen or heard of a machine factory resetting itself without at least some human intervention in the near IT experience.
