HP Laptop Brightness not working

Hi,

I have a HP laptop its brightness button not working but audio but working.

Hi @CrazyFrog
Try these methods

  1. Press fn + Brigtness key
  2. By clicking on your battery icon to reveal the brightness adjustment tool.
  3. From the notification tool located at the bottom right corner of your screen.
  4. From system settings >> Display

Hi @Aravinth,

Thanks for the response.

I tried with fn+ Brightness keys + & - Both are not working but for the audio its working and I am using Windows 8.1 so no display option in the right corner of the screen

Go to Power setting s and see if there is brightness option

  1. Go to Device Manager
  2. Select Display adapters and scroll down.
  3. Right-click On adapter and select the Properties option.
  4. Go to the Drivers tab in the popup window.
  5. Push the Rollback Driver button. If Rollback Driver is greyed out, this means no earlier version is installed.
  6. Wait until it is done. The system should recover the brightness and the increase/decrease functions in the keyboard should work.
  7. If the previous step does not resolve the issue, upgrade Intel Video Driver to the latest.

Hi @CrazyFrog,

Try @zura1994 suggested steps. or try to update the graphic driver to the latest version if the rollback didn’t help.

Excellent!! @zura1994, @tjnihal.

It worked, My laptop have AMD Graphic card for some testing i disabled integrated Intel driver which caused this issue. I also forgot the changes once i re-enabled it now i was able to make changes to my display brightness accordingly

Thanks
