Remove an account from on-premises AD but keep in O365 portal

When we delete the user from Active Directory it also delete the user account in Office 365 portal. My management has asked to keep the o365 user details and files like Outlook, OneDrive, OneNote etc.,

So, what will be the best way I don’t want any interruptions
