Setting up a second Domain Controller on Server 2019

I’m thinking about setting up a second Domain Controller on Server 2019 for DC02 and Server 2012 R2. Will everything be ok if I move FSMO roles to the Server 2019? Thank you for your answer in advance.

You can move the FSMO role from server 2012 to server 2019. Migration itself is very straight forward task. But there are other things you need to consider before you do an AD migration.

Of course you can add additional domain controller on server 2019 as well as you can transfer or move FSMO roles to Server 2019.
Tips: Before doing it on real server, for checking you can make virtual setup on any virtual software.

A second Domain Controller will load balance the services and minimize the risk of critical services going down. The benefit to this is it will load balance the services and minimize the risk of a complete network outage.
