Hey everyone! I have a problem with either a bug or a virus on my PC (Windows 10 OS). When opening a new blank document, the computer always opens two instead of one. This is going on just recently, so I have no idea what I might have done to cause this. Also, my AV scan does not show anything as well. What am I looking at?

Is it happening with your all the documents? if yes then It might be a virus, Update your antivirus and scan your computer.

Recent updates may have corrupted the user profile settings, It always happens in Windows 10. So, simply login with another or new account in the same PC and check if the same behavior happens for word. If NOT then, you need to delete the current user profile and recreate new one. Follow the below steps to delete the user profile:
- Login the PC with built-in administrator account
- Delete the temp user profile in C:\users\
- Delete the registry file for the temp user if available in the registry <
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList.> - Goto c:\users and rename the default folder to something like default.old (note: you need to enable hidden files in the view to view this folder)
- This is the main step Copy the default folder (c:\users\default) from a good working computer and paste in the exact location (c:\users\default).
- Now restart your computer and log in.

Use kaspersky or Malwarebytes to scan your PC
or reinstall the software

You can try removing any 3rd party Anti-malware and enable and update windows defender instead.
