I am unable to find files in file explorer search since updating to version 1909. When I search for a term that I know is in the file name, I get: “No items match your search”, and I had to rebuild the index multiple times since the update. No corruption to the nominated folders in Control panel, Indexing options or its Registry keys within HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\Gather\Windows\SystemIndex\Sites, and troubleshooting “couldn’t identify the problem”. Version is Windows 10 Home x64 Version 1909 Build 18363.535. Anybody saw this problem before?
hello
Indexing needs some time to index all files. if you have big information on your drive indexing needs more time and you need to just wait. if it doesn’t work, your operation system will be crashed and when you’ll need to reinstall it
Hi @Harper,
I think this thread will be helpful

The main issue could be Indexing issues or the index database might be corrupted or simply the search service is not running.
To open an admin Command Prompt window-
Press Win key + X, then click ‘Command Prompt (admin).
Then copy/paste each in turn at the prompt, press and wait for the command to complete.
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
The last resort because if nothing works out then this method will surely repair all problems with your PC and will Fix File Explorer Search Not Working in Windows 10 issue. Repair Install just used with the system without deleting user data existing on the system.
