Windows 10 changes resolution automatically after wakeup

We have 2 PCs which have exact same issue. When the user leaves their PCs are left running and the monitors are turned off. When they come in the next day and turn the monitors back on, the resolution drops. Strange thing is that it only happens on one screen. It also doesn’t happen every time, just randomly.

Both PC’s are Windows 10 and have up-to-date drivers. I have done a bit of searching online already, found a few potential fixes. Not sure if anyone else on here has come across this issue previously, otherwise it will be a bit of trial and error testing tomorrow.

Both the 2 Samsung monitors with the issue are the same specification. I did put (admittedly not too clearly) that on one of the PC’s that it is the primary monitor, but on the other, it is the secondary. (The one that has the primary as the issue has Samsung for both screens, the other PC uses one Samsung and I think the other is ASUS).

The resolution goes from say 1920 x 1080 before sleeping/restart, then on wake/reboot, it’s on 800x600. (Not sure on the actual resolutions). Once it loads back up they have to go into display settings and change it back (not the end of the world but needs fixing really).

Any thought is highly appreciated
Thanks

Hello @George

Did you check power and sleep settings in windows 10.
If you facing this problem after updating Windows 10 then you will have to update your display card driver also.
