Windows 10 detect 1 Gbps Ethernet Adapter speed as 100 Mpbs

Hi,

Ethernet port died in one of our office computer so we have bought a new external ethernet card. The external ethernet card supports Gigabit Ethernet. All devices in the network such as routers, switches, etc support Gigabit speed. When I do right-click on the network adapter and I selected “Status” it showed me the speed 100Mbps, instead of 1Gbps.

This PC is running with Windows 10 version 1909.

This is what I have tried to solve this issue:

  1. Updating BIOS/firmware
  2. Updating NIC driver
  3. Testing with Ubuntu Live
  4. All cables are CAT 6 and all are sound

Indeed, none of the above was helpful so looking for your great suggestions,

Thanks
