Windows 10 login error "We can't sign into your account"

Hello guys,

Our office has 50 computers where only 5 users get this error when trying to login to Windows 10 machines: “We can’t sign in to your account…”

  1. We do not use roaming profiles
  2. The issue is not specific to the PC. The issue follows the user from the computer to the computer.
  3. Tried deleting profile on computers for affected users, and there is no profile to delete.
  4. Tried deleting registry entry for user and this did not fix: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

Edit: Okay, the registry key we have mentioned wasn’t successfully deleted as the user did not have permission to do so. I will see about testing actually deleting the registry key for the affected users at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
