Windows server what version im trying to rescue

Hi,

My current situation is currently like this I have a windows server backup file from a client who doesn’t have knowledge about the server version It was done by a freelancer.

Is there anyway to confirm which version of server from the backup file?

Hi, @NaveenD,

You can able to get the windows version from here C:\Windows\System32\license.rtf. Mount the backup file to a working PC open the license.rtf file it will have Windows Server version mentioned in the top of the file.
